This workshop is ideal for those wishing to learn a range of skills relating to realistic drawing - especially relating to birds and animals. Students will be given step-by-step instructions on how to progress through a given project (such as the kestrel shown) each day using graphite and a range of drawing materials. Michael will provide detailed handouts, individual attention to each student and demonstrations throughout the process. The drawing process will be discussed, along with exercises on gesture, contour drawing and blending. Techniques such as hatching and shading will also be explored, as will composition and choice of subject.
