Christmas Bird Count. A Citizen Science project that was initiated by American ornithologist Frank Chapman in 1900. For 2017, the Christmas Bird Count within the Saugeen Shores district will be held on: Wednesday, January 4 from 7am to 7pm. Participants meet at Tim Hortons in Southampton to be designated their portion of the 24km area before breaking off into groups, returning around 5pm to compile the sightings and enjoy dinner.
