Learn to Knit or Crochet

Our wonderful teachers will guide you through the wonderful crafts of knitting and crocheting.  These classes run continuously throughout the year.  You will learn the basic stitches and start a simple project for you to complete.  Let the addiction begin!!

Sock Knitting 101

We have had great success with our "Sock Sunday" classes.  Students learn the "anatomy" of a sock from ribbing the cuff, to turning a heel and ending with the Kitchener stitch to complete a toe.  We teach sock knitting from the cuff down to the toe on 4 double-pointed needles.  Stay tuned for knitting on circulars with the "magic loop" method as well as lacy socks and knitting two socks at a time.

Teen and Kid Knits

Afterschool programs have been run by our teen knitting whiz, Lauren McGinty as well as Learn to Knit classes.  Tuesday Teen Tuesdays is an afterschool drop-in program where children (age 9 and up) and teens can drop in for help on a project, or just to sit and knit!  This summer, Lauren will be offering adult-child learn to knit classes weekly, starting in July.  So, if Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie, Uncle, Mom or Dad wants to bring a child and learn to knit, sign up!  It will be a blast.

Technique Classes

As more knitters come to the store, we have been gathering requests for technique classes. Our offerings will include: cable knitting, lace knitting, fair isle techniques as well as same day lessons including shawls, beach bags, crochet baby booties, lace dishcloths, baby hats and more.  Keep an eye on our class schedule for more classes and please send in your requests!
